Camille Borders is a new assistant professor of history at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She is a social historian of nineteenth- and twentieth-century U.S. history with a specialty in women’s history and Black feminist thought. Through her work, she seeks to understand how Black people in America built, resisted, and thrived under the shadows of social and political domination
Dr. Borders is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. She earned a master’s degree in U.S. history at the University of Oxford in England and a Ph.D. in history at Princeton University in New Jersey.
