Since 1838, Bethel AME Church Providence, Rhode Island has had a rich history where African American's have gathered for worship for generations. We are a diverse and welcoming congregation committed to sharing the love of Christ with all people. Originally on Meeting Street, this church served as a vital communication hub and sanctuary on the Underground Railroad.

Our Pastor
Reverend Wayne Sylvester Daley, MDiv., earned his Master of Divinity form Andover Newton Theological School, an affiliate of Yale Divinity School. He previously served as an associate minister for St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Ellis Ishmael Washington, and he previously served as the Minister to Men and Sr. Associate Minister under the leadership of his father in the ministry, Rev. Dr. Gregory George Groover, Sr., Pastor of The Historic Charles Street African Methodist Episcopal Church.
